Dubai— A three-day Global Business Conference featuring business magnates from 12 countries concluded on Sunday (December 24) at the Millennium Plaza Hotel in downtown Dubai. The glittering ballroom witnessed discussions on legal remittances, innovation, branding, the formation of a Smart Bangladesh, the implementation of the Awami League-led government's 2041 Vision, the state of education in Bangladesh, information technology, and skill development through multiple interactive sessions.
The inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. Juma Madani, a prominent figure in Dubai. He expressed genuine admiration for Bangladeshi business icons attending the mega summit and urged them to consider investing in Dubai. Dr. Madani pledged support for investors in various capacities.
Addressing the main event on the inaugural day, the Bangladeshi Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Muhammad Abu Jafar, remarked that if Bangladeshis residing worldwide show increased interest in investing in their homeland, the country will progress rapidly.
Special guest Sheikh Rahman, a senator from the state of Georgia, USA, commented that Bangladesh is in a victorious phase. He suggested that imparting education in the Bengali language is essential, but unity with people of all backgrounds is equally important.
The conference, supported by GFB and Washington University of Science and Technology, featured crucial statements from GFB's founder Golum Faruk Bhuiya and Engineer Abubokor Hanip. They both encouraged the expatriate community to invest in Bangladesh and appealed to the government to create an environment conducive to foreign investment.
Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Abubokor Hanip, CEO and Chancellor of Washington University of Science and Technology, stressed that their institution is adopting a 'Triple Model' of education, which integrates degree programs, skill development, and job placement.
He highlighted the success of this model in the United States, where graduates secure high-paying jobs in the IT sector shortly after completing their degrees.
Mr. Hanip concluded by reaffirming his commitment to providing maximum support to the Bangladeshi community, both in terms of education and investment. As a gesture of appreciation for their innovative contributions, Chancellor Hanip and his wife, Farhana Hanip, were honored with a prestigious crest amidst enthusiastic applause during the conference.
