Dhaka, Bangladesh--In anticipation of the twelfth national parliamentary elections scheduled for January 7, the Jatiya Party (JP-Ershad) has revealed a comprehensive 24-point manifesto, addressing key issues ranging from local governance reforms to the independence and conclusion of cases in the judiciary.

The announcement was made by JP's secretary-general, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, on Thursday at the party's chairman's office in the capital.

One of the prominent features of JP's manifesto is the commitment to local governance reforms. The party aims to bring about significant changes in the functioning of local bodies, ensuring greater efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness to the needs of the community. The manifesto also emphasises the improvement of election methods to ensure a fair and democratic electoral process.

Addressing concerns about district administration, JP's manifesto outlines a comprehensive plan for reform. The party envisions a district administration system that is not only efficient but also accountable, fostering better coordination and delivery of services to the citizens.

JP's commitment to good governance in Bangladesh is a cornerstone of its manifesto. The party pledges to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all facets of governance, promoting a government that serves the people with integrity.

In a move to strengthen the judicial system, JP's manifesto highlights the party's dedication to ensuring the independence of the judiciary and expeditious conclusion of legal cases. This commitment aims to enhance public trust in the legal system and facilitate timely justice.

The manifesto further addresses critical issues such as creating employment opportunities for both educated and uneducated youth, expanding healthcare services, modifying educational methods, and taking strict measures against terrorism and drug abuse. JP's vision encompasses a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, energy, industry, and diplomacy.

Among the noteworthy points in the manifesto are the party's stance on environmental issues, with commitments to river conservation, anti-erosion measures, sustainable energy, and climate change initiatives. The protection of the interests of religious and ethnic minorities, women's empowerment, and reforms in economic institutions, currency policy, and revenue management are also integral components of JP's agenda.

As the nation prepares for the upcoming elections, JP's manifesto stands as a comprehensive roadmap for a promising future, resonating with the aspirations of the people for a more transparent, efficient, and just governance system.
