Dhaka, Jan 04, 2024— In a concerted effort to boost the tourism sector, the Next Tour and Travel Agency organized a collaborative discussion event with the Bangladesh Tourist Police and Travel Agency. The event, aimed at addressing opportunities, facilities, and resolving issues within the industry, brought together employees from various tour and travel agencies in the country. The gathering took place on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the conference room of Next Tour and Travel in Dhanmondi, the capital.
Chaired by Ali Akbar, the Managing Director of Next Tour and Travel Agency, the event had Deputy Inspector General Mr. Abu Kalam Siddique, Chief of Bangladesh Tourist Police, as the chief guest. Representatives from diverse travel agencies across Bangladesh actively participated in the discussions. The topics covered during the event included issues related to tourists, such as drug trafficking masquerading as tourism, harassment of photographers in tourist centers, and the unique challenges faced by fish sellers in selling preserved fish in tourist areas.
Responding to these concerns, Chief Guest Abu Kalam Siddique assured that the Tourist Police is actively working to address these issues. High-voltage CC cameras have been deployed for continuous monitoring of tourist centers. A dedicated hotline has also been established to provide top-notch services, and the Tourist Police is working around the clock to ensure a hassle-free travel experience for tourists.
Ali Akbar, the Managing Director of Next Tour and Travel, emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, stating that collective efforts on a single platform can swiftly resolve various challenges faced by those working in the tourism industry. He highlighted ongoing discussions with the Tourist Police regarding the problems encountered by tourists at tourism centers, expressing confidence that this collaboration will progress with the cooperation of all stakeholders.
Shahinur Islam Mahin, Director of Next Tour and Travel Agency, added, "Despite many people having a desire to travel, the lack of good communication prevents them from doing so. We work for those who love to travel."
The event also saw the presence of Mohammad Abu Sufian, additional Deputy Inspector General of Bangladesh Tourist Police, Mr. Naimul Haque, Police Superintendent of the Dhaka Region, and Mr. Badrul Alam Molla, Police Superintendent of the Law and Media Division of Bangladesh Tourist Police. The ceremony concluded with the dignitaries being honored with crests.
It is noteworthy that Next Tour and Travel operates not only in various tourism centers in the country but also works on pilgrimage packages both inside and outside the country.
